PalmGuardian 1.0 for macOS 13 and later

First-time setup

  1. Open PalmGuardian. A hand appears in the menu bar.
  2. Choose “Accessibility access needed” from the PalmGuardian panel.
  3. In System Settings, allow PalmGuardian under Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
  4. Allow PalmGuardian under Privacy & Security → Input Monitoring if macOS requests it.
  5. Quit and reopen PalmGuardian after changing permissions.

The panel says “Needs accessibility access”

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and confirm PalmGuardian is enabled. If it already is, turn it off and on once, then reopen PalmGuardian.

The trackpad stays paused too long

Open the menu bar panel and lower the Recovery delay. Start at 0.3 seconds and adjust upward only if accidental clicks still get through.

Pointer input is interrupted while using a mouse

The current release pauses pointer events generally during the recovery window. Disable PalmGuardian temporarily from the menu bar when you need uninterrupted mouse input while typing.

Remove launch at login

Turn off “Launch at login” in the PalmGuardian panel before deleting the app.
